Nicola Mining Inc. (CVE:NIM), a junior mining stock, moved up after providing an exploration update for its Thule Project

Copper results shone brightly for one junior mining stock Thursday, while leakage was bad news for a gold miner. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, June 9, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Nicola Mining Inc. (CVE:NIM) shares jumped 35% to $0.155 on Thursday after the junior mining company provided an update on its 2016 exploration activities for the Thule Project in British Columbia. Highlights included 53 trench samples collected with a range from 71 ppm copper to 1.68% copper. The Company added that it is currently in the final stages of consultation on the Notice of Work for its 2016 Exploration Drill Program, which will begin upon receipt of permit.
As well, shares of Aureus Mining Inc. (TSE:AUE) slipped 15% to $0.055 as the West African gold producer said cyanide discharge at its New Liberty Gold Mine in Liberia, which can be attributed to operational issues at the plant, have exceeded ICMC compliance guidelines as well as Liberian environmental laws.
EnerGulf Resources Inc. (CVE:ENG), meanwhile, reported that it has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire certain interests in offshore Gulf of Mexico oil and gas prospects. EnerGulf Resources stock moved up 86% to $0.065 following the announcement.
In addition, shares of Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd. (CVE:BGM) surged 16% to $0.64 as the gold explorer released results from the Phase II exploration and infill drilling programs on Barkerville Mountain at its flagship Cariboo Gold Project in British Columbia, which included 9.97 g/t gold over 31.00 metres.
Finally, International Lithium Corp. (CVE:ILC) shares gained 12% to $0.29 after the explorer announced that it has completed the drill program at the Avalonia Lithium Project in the Republic of Ireland, and has discovered a new pegmatite body in the Aclare area.
