Golden Predator Mining Corp. (CVE:GPY), a gold junior, jumped after announcing new drill results from the Brewery Creek project in the Yukon

More than a few speculators were attracted to drill results from a gold junior Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, October 13, 2016 (as of 4 pm EST):
Golden Predator Mining Corp. (CVE:GPY) shares climbed 6% to $0.85 on Thursday after the gold junior announced new drill results from the Brewery Creek project in the Yukon, which included 5.1 metres of 32.1 g/t gold from 23.9 metres down hole.
As well, shares of Aptose Biosciences Inc. (TSE:APS) slid 14% to $3.20 as the clinical-stage company developing new therapeutics and molecular diagnostics that target the underlying mechanisms of cancer said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has requested additional information on the GMP-grade drug substance and drug product that is proposed for use in the clinic prior to making a decision on the hold and approval for the re-initiation of the clinical trial of APTO-253 in patients with hematologic cancers.
ALX Uranium Corp. (CVE:AL), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into an agreement in which Denison Mines Corp. will acquire an immediate 80% ownership of the entire Hook-Carter property in Saskatchewan in exchange for the issuance of 7.5 million common shares of Denison. Denison also agreed to fund ALX’s share of the first C$12 million in expenditures. ALX Uranium stock moved up 20% to $0.09 following the announcement.
Finally, Zecotek Photonics Inc. (TSXV:ZMS) (OTCPK:ZMSPF) (CVE:ZMS) shares rose 5% to $0.295 after the developer of photonics technologies for healthcare, industrial, and scientific markets announced that the major medical OEM based in China has ordered LFS scintillation crystals for a third positron emission tomography (PET) scanning device.
