Cobalt assays from rock samples sparked a bit of excitement in shares of a resource junior Thursday. Here’s some small stocks making big moves on Thursday, January 18, 2018 (as of 4 pm EST):

Nevada Sunrise Gold Corporation (TSXV:NEV) shares climbed 18% to $0.20 on Thursday after the resource junior announced results of an initial geochemical rock sampling program and a reconnaissance geophysical survey at the historic Lovelock Cobalt Mine in Nevada, with assay results as high as 1.81% cobalt, 3.05% nickel and 5.99% copper.

As well, shares of Aurion Resources Ltd. (TSXV:AU) plunged 52% to $0.79 as the gold explorer released results from a maiden 4380 metre diamond drill program at the Aamurusko gold prospect on its 100% owned Risti Project in Finland, with the highest assay result to date being 10.1 g/t gold over 1.0 metre.

Peekaboo Beans Inc. (TSXV:BEAN), meanwhile, reported that 24% of sales captured in January came from the United States. In previous years, the direct-sales retailer of children’s apparel said it solely depended on Canadian revenue. Peekaboo Beans stock popped 10% to $0.81 following the announcement.
